A Confederacy of Dunces - John Kennedy Toole, Walker Percy
Some random statements:

This book definitely surprised me. In a good way.

The story behind this book is amazing in it's own right.

For the record, folks: I don't think you're supposed to identify with Ignatius on any deep levels. I'm pretty sure it was intended for him to annoy you. He is whiny, pretentious and narcissistic for a reason.

Personally, his mother annoyed me a lot more.

I could've done without his repeated commentary on his gas valve, though. lol.

Jones was the sanest, not to mention funniest character in this book. He's one of my favorite characters of all time, actually.

I also loved the old lady co-worker (forgot her name) who kept calling Ignatius "Gloria".
